Former President Donald Trump is in “serious trouble” as a result of a
new lawsuit filed against him by two police officers who were injured in
the Jan. 6 insurrection.

“If you could short Donald Trump right now, it would be a good time to
do so,” former acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal said on MSNBC on
Wednesday.

The federal lawsuit filed this week blames Trump for the physical and
emotional injuries the officers incurred during the insurrection, which
was egged on by the then-president and carried out by his supporters.

“Trump, by his words and conduct, directed the mob that stormed the
Capitol and assaulted and battered James Blassingame and Sidney Hemby,”
the lawsuit stated.
