Tough criteria. That really narrows down the incidents.

Let's be honest, the word "terrorist" is pretty murky though.
It's now applied to anyone who simply committed a scary or heinous
crime. I don't generally consider a "lone wolf" like this guy to
be a terrorist. In my mind, terrorists typically have a clear,
unifying cause that they're trying to promote through fear and
violence. They typically work together in a small conspiracy or
as part of a larger, cohesive group. I haven't seen any evidence
this guy was associated with ANYONE let alone al qaeda. Having a
manual doesn't mean anything, as they're readily available online
with minimal searching. Regardless of what influenced him to do
it, without further evidence of some kind of collusion I don't
consider him an islamic terrorist any more than I consider Anders
Breivik a neo-nazi terrorist.. no, they're both lone wolf whack
jobs.
